Agreed.
If you view KJ as a business, which in essence it is, it is, I think it was
a logical move after such a long hiatus to go for the more commercial
production, the big name drummer, the video for first single not to feature
the band, the bright mustard Krusty cover (which was crap, but it did stand
out) etc. in order to open them up to a new fan base.
It added an air of mystery and let younger audiences hear the music without
being prejudiced by the image of a bunch of old farts who fist released a
record 25 years ago.
Shame sales weren't as they could have been and I can't help thinking along
Richies lines that different choices of singles could have made a bigger
difference, but to a degree it all worked.
2003 put them back on the map, made them a viable name again - a lifetime
achievement award from Kerrang can't be a bad thing either.
It's definitely raised their game.
Another good thing is it seems to have reignited the bands passion to be a
band again you can feel that rediscovered energy on every track on Hosannas.
Live shows have, as Jaz says, have become a real celebration & a real feel
good experience.

Am muchly looking forward to April.
