Yes, there is.  Good job my boss isn't in - it'll take me ages to edit
all these...

(I did try Nero's crossfade option with 1 second, but still a gap.)

Second suggestion . . 

Open each MP3 in your wav editor and check to see if there is a lead in
silence . . if so delete it and try burning again . . 

It may work?

Sounds like your source mp3s have gaps in them. Probably because they
got 
ripped using naff software.

I've used the ACF disk writer plugin for winamp to play these things
without 
gaps and output them as wave for burning to CD.

It's that or Marc's suggestion really.
