Neither Pluto is at the edge of universe. Possibly at the edge of our solar
system, not hte universe.

Moreover, universe has no edges since it is like a three-dimentional sumace
of four-dimentional expanding bubble.. :-)

How can one interpret Iceland as being "at the edge of the universe"?
Iceland is closer than New York is. An Island at the edge of the universe
would probably mean a planet a few stops after Pluto. Maybe he got
"Universe" and "Artic" circle mixed up in the interpretation. If the was
imminent, then it would be pointless going to Iceland. That is a bit like
being on an aeroplane that runs out of fuel in mid air and then saying "I'm
going to sit in first class, I'll be safe there".

If he would have gone to a deserted island in the Pacific or to a cave in
the Himalayas then he may have have had a chance of escaping a mini
apocalypse, but going to Iceland would nt have helped him one iota. We have
a cold weather front coming down from Iceland as we speak, it is not that
far away.Iceland is an island on the edge of Europe, rather than an Island
at the edge of the Universe.

Apparently the bible or something talks about an "island at the edge of the
universe" that was safe, so Jaz and Geordie interpreted it as Iceland (he's
said this in interviews).

Always intrigued me - just out of interest, why would Iceland be the safest
place to ensconce oneself in the event of an apocalypse, did they research
this fully or was it a case of 'that will do'? Is it a relatively self
sufficient land mass? - any Icelandic's on this list?
