Cheers for that Pavel. Kinda glad now I didn't make the effort to go (but
there again what would you expect). Paul please shed light on how the day
went for you. Did you get ride in Jaz's limmo?

Bob

Subject: [kj] KJ Video shoot

My girlfriend and I have been to video shoot yesterday so I can report.

The first thing to know is that the video is for the song Hosannas from the
Basement of Hell.

The video shoot was supposed to start at 7 am in the basements of an old
Czech Wine Works that seemed it hasn't been used for a decade at least. The
basement was really huge place (for basement) and pretty dirty and
destroyed.

Jaz, Ben and Reza turned up about an hour late. Then there was a waiting for
Geordie who arrived at about 10:30 am. So the whole bunch of people waiting
there since 7 am was not very happy in a freezing cold.

Then it was revealed that there is no point to wait for Raven since he is in
the USA right now. And some other guy had to play Raven in the video - in
fact two guys, one in morning and one in the afternoon.

Edita took some pictures of the basement and first scene.

The director of the video was the director of A Year of the Devil movie.

There were dozens of homeless people creeping towards the band holding big
bones with the remnants of flesh on them. Jaz with painted face stood in
front of a tall desk with some magic-like objects on it.

The second scene was the band playing in the middle of the circle of fire
and the homeless crowd kind of dancing and slowly approaching the band.
There were some other fires too.

The last scene was to be a fire show, but I haven't seen it since we left
before the shoot of this scene started.

There were many friends of the band, especially those from the favorite bar
of Killing Joke called Za zrdcadlem invited to act in the video. But in the
end no one of them in fact was in the video since they were all young and
they needed older people in the video - at least that's how I understood the
reasons for it. Many of them were in the end pretty angry that they made an
effort and spend the whole day in the freezing cold and dirt.

I guess that anybody who would travel from other countries to act in the
video would be a bit disappointed.

I actually enjoyed it however since I arrived there in the afternoon, spent
there some 4 hours and had no expectations. Plus there were many nice people
to speak with.

>From the band I only exchanged couple of words with Jaz and then some more
words with Reza. I actually spoke with Reza for the first time and I must
say it was nice to speak with him.

Reza told me it is true that the version of new album that leaked out is not
a final one.

It seems that the video would be very much 'gothic' and quite interesting. I
am looking forward to see it.

The only other thing I can recall is that Jaz and Geordie were quite
critical of Depeche Mode concert they have been to a day before.

PAVEL
