If Jaz did NOT go to Iceland then would we still be talking about it? Would we still be discussing why Jaz did NOT go to Iceland? 
Would we be discussing whether he did nt go to Iceland because he did  think the Apocalypse would nt be coming? 
If he did go because of the imagined Apocalypse, he need nt have bothered, because the Apocalypse never materialised, he ws mistaken.

It's not a big deal to go to Iceland -- it is a big deal, however, to flee to Iceland when you have dates scheduled to play (and tv appearances) and not tell anyone.

  It's really not such a big deal going to Iceland. It is on par with getting in your car and spontaneously driving to the coast for the week-end . Everyone must have woke up one morning and felt like they need a holiday and then going to the travel agent and buying a ticket. It really is not such a big deal. I'm sure that every single person would have packed their bags once in their lives and disappeared for a while especially if they had the means and no commitments.
