[kj] The Internet killed the Killing Joke myth

I was referring more to the way they presented themselves to the media, rather than the way they were on tour. These are two separate entities. I was talking about how Killing joke presented themselves to the World as a band, rather than their individual personalities. For example: If KJ announced that they were touring in Warzones and were recording an album in Warzones ,( before the arrival of the Internet) they would have then disappeared for a while and resurfaced a year later with a new album which people would have assumed was recorded in a Warzone, but with the advent of the net it is easier for people to find out the facts, rather than listening to rumours.
If a rumour was started (pre-net) it would take years to pass around the Globe and it would be difficult to verify the rumour and impossible to stop. With the arrival of the net, a rumour can started and denied instantly. So rumours can be stopped , before they even get off the ground.

but i met them on their first tour, they talked, they laughed, they got 'high' without patronising an 18 year old youth in their company. there was no myth, they were very much 'there' Did others create myths to suit their own desires?
