with a wristband ((around 100-125 dollars) you can  usually - but not always - get into most of the shows if you show up  early and stay at one club.  Having a sxsw badge - a much more  expensive proposition - greatly increases your chances of seeing who  you want to see.    
  
  FYI:  I believe that Neil Young is only speaking and not playing; though I haven't checked the sxsw schedule in days
