in my experience of the audiences i have played for, only about 30% do i 
feel the need to acknowledge or continue communicating with, normally 
you can tell in about three songs if the particular audience is even 
worth pissing on. but then that 30% can make it all seem like heaven. 
when it all goes right, and the spontaneity flows, it can rival really 
good freaky sex with multiple partners.
_sometimes it is just a gig _- who is to blame *billy zoom and geordie 
*for appearing smug or aloof. often people in groups can be insipid 
unconscious bags of fungus. so even if the audience are footing your gas 
and rock star bill, at times it can be difficult to have concern for 
their perception. _

both *geordie and zoom* never seem to stray from their stoic demeanor, 
which may work better than some forced histrionic display of enthusiasm 
( gary cherone anyone?! ) night in and night out. whatever is their 
reason, be it just style, concentration on their craft, 
shyness/insecurity or down right contempt for the audiences,
it works for this audience member.
