Try a  DVD disc cleaner,if that fails then your laser is most likely out of  
alinement.Older PS2's had plastic round the lens that warps due to heating  
with over use. Cheaper to buy a new one I think.



Totally agree. They are not so expensive at the moment.
And a funny thing is that sometimes even Sony can not solve problems with  
the PS2. It will take about five month ore more to repair.
