They've got several "best of" compilations out there, any of which are worth 
picking up. Probably the "Edward The Great" single disc comp or the 2 disc 
"Essential" collection. If you want to try an individual album, "Number of 
the Beast" or "Powerslave" are imo, their best stuff. The "Live After Death" 
album is a great start as well, excellent track list and great live sound. 
The only albums I would avoid are the two (X-Factor and Virtual XI) with 
Blaze Baily, the singer who replaced Dickenson for a few years.

Iron Maiden also has several nicely done collectors box style packages, 
including a nice metal box with several live shows and a rarities cd.

Regarding the new album, imo, it's just ok and lacks the ferocity of their 
best stuff from the early to mid 80's.
