spanker (great email moniker btw), Brian didnt say that the singer 'filled
mensi in', he said the singer filled in FOR mensi.
This is called a stand in, something common with Killing Joke ; )

the earlier mail:

for Mensi. Te guy filling in (can't remember who) read out a statement from
Mensi apologising for not being there. I was talking to John Rob the lead
singer of Gold Balde and journo who is heavily involved in Wasted and it
