[kj] RE: Melotonin

Hi all

Just like to add that I have used melatonin for about five years now, for
Insomnia.
I don't use it like everynight, just at the times I can't sleep. When I have
heavy bouts
off sleepless night I may take it twice a week, but these are rare now days
thanks to Melatonin.

And now I maybe need them, 2-3 times a year. And have suffered non of the
side effects mentioned.

In the past, I was put on all types of sleeping tabs by the Dr all had bad
side effect, but thats a different story.

N'EWay, the one thing I like about melatonin is that you don't feel like
crap the next day, and I've never found them to make me drowsy
they just allow me to sleep as normal.

Then at the end of the day, if you do anything to excess it's normal ends up
being bad for you.

Shaun

nope, not very empirical, but yes, if you want to look around.
just the same as screwing with serotonin, dopamine etc etc...

It's used in the dog world too. To help with stress - particularly with
things like noise phobias - fireworks etc. Can't say that I've had any
success but I've only used it once and recommended it once but some people
swear by it. Personally by the time you work out the correct dosage you can
sort out the problem behaviourally.

Gave it to my OH - didn't reduce his sex drive. I'll have to give him a
bit more next time;-)) Hardly empirical evidence though.

Adverse reactions associated with melatonin include stomach discomfort,
morning grogginess, daytime "hangover," feeling of a "heavy head,"
depression, psychotic episodes (in combination with fluoxetine), headache,
lethargy, fragmented disorientation, amnesia, inhibition of fertility,
increased seizure activity, suppression of male sexual drive, hypothermia,
retinal damage, gynecomastia and low sperm count. Typically, these reports
are related to high doses. However, adverse effects have been reported and
can occur with low doses as well.

I certainly didn't see this, nor hear about it in any of the gig reports or
set-lists.

I got a set list from Nottingham, where Implosion is crossed out, so they
were gonna play it but dropped it for some reason

Hi everyone, how are you all?

It's me - Juliet - remember me?

Is anyone going to the mal damage gig tonight?

I am, and I just wondered if anyone else was.
