Depends which exam they are doing but GCSE History  is Castles (usually using the most local one), Medicine through time and Weimar and Nazi Germany.  But there's also a Social and Economic GCSE too, involving Trade Unions, Reforms, Emancipation.

You really need to know which exam board and which exam is being taken before buying text books.
