Yes, I found that, too, but thanks anyway
I hope he's not really dead...

    Stephen Mallinder [from brainwashed]
Stephen Mallinder (aka Mal) is Cabaret Voltaire's lead vocalist, bass player, and lord knows what else. In 1988 he described himself as a "fucked-up vegetarian catholic", but now he has relocated to Australia. It is unclear how much input he made to the more recent CV albums.
More recently, Mal has been involved with two new antipodean projects the Coolin' Brothers and Sassi and Loco. These are both on his label Off World Sounds.
He has released one EP (Pow Wow)/LP (Pow Wow Plus) and a single (Temperature Drop). They are rather good, demonstrate what he brings to the band, and show that Cabaret Voltaire are a lot more than just Richard H. Kirk.
(Note: I don't own a Fetish copy so I can't say if "1.20" is "Cool Down", or "1.34" iqs "Going Out".
You can also find Stephen warbling away on the Johnny Cash tribute album "'Til things are brighter" where he sings (yes, sings) "I walk the line". Fascinatingly enough, I believe that "I walk the line" is Mark E. Smith's favourite song.

I thought he had passed several years ago. I may be wrong. But it seems
like he died in his home of natural causes and wasn't discovered for a few
dyas
