[kj] Perceptions so far.

Beautifully put Rich!

I prefer the shorter songs that 2003 has compared to the 9-10 minute jobs on Hosannas. That said, Hosannas I find has more subtle moments, little bits here n there.

The quality of song writing on Hosannas is very high. Few peaks and troughs but it confuses me. Something in there is not right but at the same time, it is a damn good album. Maybe it's missing vocal melodies.................

I have to stop using words like "unequivocably," as "Dark Forces" is pretty poor as well. As it "Total Invasion" (sorry, Mel). While I'm not particular fond of "Loose Cannon" as a single (by a long shot), it's still a better track than these other three.

But, "Implant," "Seeing Red," "The Death & Resurrection Show" (which should've been the title track) and the afore-mentioned "Blood On Your Hands" are all fucking G O L D!!!! "Asteroid" quite fun as well, despite the rather ludicrous concept.

   Crap cover, though.

"You'll Never Get To Me" is unequivocably the worst thing on KJ2003. That said, KJ2003 does have "Blood On Your Hands," which -- to my mind (and I speak for no one other than myself) -- ranks among the band's finest work. Similarly, DEMOCRACY has "Aeon". Both of these songs possess that indefinable, awe-inspiring vibe of classic Killing Joke firing on all cylinders -- there isn't a track on HOSANNAS (in my opinion) that comes even close to either of them.

bah... 2003 is wackness. I heard YNGTM today and actually didnt remember any of it apart from the main riff. thats how little time its had in my cd player.

i'll take Democracy over both of them!
