Well, as the lunatics appear to have taken over the
Gathering once again, I'll try to stay on track by
saying Oi Alex! No!

I must say I am enjoying Hosannas greatly, and there
is something in there that most definitely gives me a
Bloodsport/Change/early days vibe. Being on the other
side of the great Extremities schism, I believe it
pisses all over that LP, which I've never really liked
or rated (save for Termite Mound and a few others),
and which much of to me is bad thrash metal. I am
positively stoked by Majestic, Walking With Gods,
Lightbringer, Judas Goat and Invocation, and coming to
terms with the rest. Geordie's playing and sound has
got back some of that old cheese-wire-to-the-neck
tone, and as for the occasional burst of daft lyrics,
well, that's been a given for some years now. Jaz's
throatiness is a shame but doesn't spoil my enjoyment,
not when the music is this good.

I might skip a few tracks (at the mo', Antidote and
Gratitude) but that's been the least number of tracks
I've skipped on a KJ record since Revelations (WTF!
being the last KJ record I listened to from beginning
to end with total pleasure.) After the first two
albums, I rate this as tied-third with Night Time,
Pandemonium and Revelations. (BTATS would have made a
good EP.) KJ may well be imploding before our eyes
(ears), but if this is their swansong then it couldn't
have been much better.

Now, can all the sweary mad people just email each
other instead of mailing the list?
N
