its true the long songs don't go anywhere , whereas the long tracks on
extremities most certainly DID
take intravenous or any of them actually


i think Intravenous, Extremities, Inside the Termite Mound, North of the 
Border and Slipstream are ok, but no more than that compared to the new 
compositions (I choose my term carefully). They simply don't groove, and are 
good ideas ruined by that arsehole Atkins with his Ginger Baker/Mitch 
Mitchell delusions. Extremities marked the beginning of a return to form 
that took 16 years to reach fruition, because they were employing 
inappropriate drummers. Benny isn't BPF, but he does a far better job than 
the rest of that shower of drummers did. He should have been further forward 
in the mix. Come on, it's fekkin awesome!
