Remember at a Death Cult gig at the Powerhouse in Brum being lifted onto somebodys shoulders, another mate then lifted the two of us onto his shoulders - so there I am rather worse for wear at the top of an unsteady pyramid when theres a teeny bit of a surge that translated to almost whiplash proportions at the top - as I toppled the mate in the middle held on as tight as he could to my ankles which further increased the speed with which I headed for the floor.
It would normally have been easy to jumpclear if my mate hadnt been holding on for grim life.
to this day I can still see the floor heading towards my face - I put my arms out to break the fall and can still hear the crack of both elbows and one wrist as i hit the floor.
After two hours in casualty I remember someone holding the phone whilst I told my parents to come and get me.
Uncomfortable is not the word but excruciating was the pain in trying to get my contact lenses out with broken arms when I got home - you see Sunday night in casualty they dont do x rays I had to go home and come back the next morning!!

At least the Stones have always been happy to discuss influences on specific songs... Unlike Led Zeppelin, who will not tolerate any interviewer even raising the subject of song similiarities.

the rolling stones didn't clear half of their tunes with leadbelly though. ;]

                  Great story Alex!

As far as Urban Hymns goes, I've often wondered if it was Youth's decision not to clear the sample on 'Bittersweet Symphony' with the Rolling Stones before releasing the track, and thus end up getting the band in large amounts of trouble.

                  J.
