Green Day 
Alkaline Trio 
The Transplants 
Boxcar Racer 
Snuff (original line-up) 
Busted! 

It seems that a decent number of pop punk bands are 3 piece at the 
moment and Green Day are one of the most popular bands going at the 
moment. 

I don't think that the Manic Street Preachers set out to be a 3 piece 
though ;)
