Too bad a dvd as well-done as the Gathering 25 has to be stained w/Peter 
West's scowl. I still can't get over the great sound. I've been listening to it on 
my shitty speakers, and I can hear each instrument separately and clearly, 
and Geordie's "1000 orchestras" guitar sounds just like it does on the albums, 
but better. Anyone notice how when Raven sings the backup parts (like on 
"Pandys"), it sounds like a chorus singing? The colors are vivid, and the editing is 
as good as you can expect w/ five cameras--a good combination of close-ups 
and wide angle shots (although I always wish concerts would be filmed w/more 
shots of the whole band at once). And a friend told me that Shepards Bush is 
where all the good shows are in London--it reminds me of some of the old theaters 
in Boston, but with 3 (instead of 1) balconies and no seats. Plus, even though 
the Joke have pretty much been playing the same set for 26 years (with a 
couple of songs from whatever was the newest album thrown in), they did manage to 
throw in 6 surprises on the setlist--although they could have chosen more 
interesting tunes from "Fire Dances" and "Revelations". Finally, who's the guy 
that comes on stage with the band at the end? Was that Mike Coles (looked like 
him)?
