Rob, you're sounding like a Company Man!! ;)

I bought dvds from Mik for ?5 each - do you think he was making a profit?
Companies bemoan that
boots are being sold & it's actually THEIR fault that the boots sell - if
they cannot compete in
the market, if they cannot provide the product that people want, someone
else will provide said products
& the consumers will purchase what they want.

Tears for KJ (Oh boohoo, someone sold a bootleg 'cos you haven't released
any live recordings since Ha?),
this is a b0ll0x argument they're using mate!

Like I already said earlier, there's a value to allowing copies to happen &
as they're not going to get a single
penny from boots ANYWAY, why don't they just let said boots continue to
spread the word for them...

Ade.

Your'e right Pete, it would have made sense to formalise the videos thing
but there is much more to it than that.

Basically, Mik was shut down because he was selling the stuff. I think
Mik's a top fella but can understand the reasoning as it wasn't his stuff to
sell. Essentially he was selling studio recordings in the form of the videos
and it "could" be considered that this would be the same as if someone was
selling mp3s of the official recordings.

Bootleg gigs are slightly different but its a very fine line.

The best thing would have been to have git an official video /dvd together
and then close down Mik.

Do you know the reasoning for the management banning Mik's site?
He was nt making much money, selling a nominal amount. And there is no
official release of these recordings. It would of benefited everyone if KJ
would of bought Mik on board,Advertised the site as official and charged
10
quid for a DVD.Everyone a winner. And I hope Mel never made an official
complaint about money and got Mik shut down.................ooopppsssss Me
  and my big mouth.

  start that discussion again!
