  I was at that Crimson show in NYC.  It did work.  Of course, there were
also two bass players and two guitarists.  It was the double-trio concept, a
pretentiously good time.

  I was also at their last show at Town Hall.  I counted more guys at the
foot of the stage before the show with notebooks scribbling down Fripp's
gear than there were women in the entire audience.  That's when I came up
with the bumper sticker 'There Ain't No P**sy at a Crimson Show', which was
soundly rejected by their management.

  While we're on the subject here's some more: Genesis (post Gabriel) did
one
  or two numbers with both Collins and Chester Thompson on drums. Fantastic
  noise. Yes, on their union tour, used both Bil Bruford and Alan White to
  great effect, and Bruford joined forces with Pat Mastiletto in King
Crimson
  for a season. And yes, I witnessed all this live (AND The Fall AND Gary
  Glitter). Is anybody on the list any further away from street cred than
  this?
