FW: [kj] Shepherds Show on Friday

Here in the US, the "straightedge" shows can still be
a bit rough, as the straightedgers like fighting with
those who don't conform to their beliefs. Bands like
Hatebreed, All Out War, ... usually have brawls,
especially in Boston, Mass. and Ohio.

"Does Jane ever stop?"

Of course - once that birthday cake came out there
wasn't much to bop
to.

I agree with Pat though - both nights were a lot less
rough than the
gigs of old. Definitely a sign of the times/age of the
fans. NMA, SOD,
Cramps, Meteors - all the gigs which used to be really
active seem to
have quietened down in recent years. This is not
necessarily a bad thing
though. There are a lot less fights kicking off these
days, with
"moshers/wreckers... whatever" grinning at each other
rather than using any
excuse to beat another punter to a pulp.

Mind you, when I've been to "young-people's" gigs they
seem pretty tame
too, with more kids preferring the passive pogo these
days than any
shoving around. I think Amen is the only recent(ish)
exception, (a couple
of years ago), which had some fairly violent slamming
going on.
