GIG NEWS: Gang Of Four's original lineup (Dave Allen, Hugo Burnham, Andy Gill and Jon King) have reformed for a series of live shows early in 2005. At the time of writing there are five gigs booked, all in the UK. Andy says that the gigs will feature "very few new songs but stuff mainly from the first 2 records and some from Shrinkwapped". They have the makings of a basic website at www.gangoffour.co.uk where you can check the dates and latest information.

Well, like many others I have the first two (Entertainment, Solid Gold) albums plus I was fortunate to get my hands on a US import CD copy of Songs Of The Free but anyone else out there intending to pop along may wish to check out the 30 second samples from "Shinkwrapped" at the Artist Direct website :

Several interesting tracks there and the CD is only £7.99 at Sister Ray I see. Released as far back as 1995 it had bypassed me but worth a buy IMHO, especially with Andy Gill back on form (allegedly) and the presence of the fomer Curve rhythm section (Dean Garcia & Monti). Oh yes.
