I had the chance to see it at the Tribeca film festival a couple years ago. Thought it was fantastic. A bit depressing, yes, but worth the ride (hard to believe what actually started the rift in the band).
The producers had trouble finding a distributor, and had legal trouble with Joey's family who felt there wasn't enough interview footage of him. This was a bit of trick, being that he was dead at the time of filming. It sounds like they've added some Joey footage and edited for length, but I couldn't imagine they did too much damage to a very worthy historical document. Ramones fans, punks, native New Yorkers, definitely required viewing. Most certainly deserves a place in the canon of our little subculture.
Add: For anyone outside of New York or the U.S. interested in the borough of Queens, the first 20 minutes of this film captures the vibe perfectly. I grew up there and can vouch for it.
