1. Name: Mr. Y? esq.

2. Age: tapping out of AEON

3.Gender: vejetabale

4.Location: Analysis Close, The Range, M16

5.Favorite Book: recent books I have enjoyed reading
are

"Hip Priest - the story of MES & The Fall" by Simon
Ford. Good on history, average on getting inside the
songs and describing them.

"On the Road with the Ramones" by Monte Melnick &
Frank Meyer which I bought the same day Johnny Ramone
died and is now going for a fiver at www.fopp.co.uk

"The Crazed" by Ha Jin

"Monkey Beach" by Eden Robinson (a book of death which
I bought down by the water in Bristol the day after PJ
Harvey played there, and which features a character
called Uncle Geordie and has a Blue Feather on the
cover)

6.Favorite Food: crunchy carrots, Kurious oranj &
sweet red peppers

7.Nasty Habit: it has been explained to me that
painting my face in blood is not socially acceptable
behaviour in the bourgeouis towns of Longsight and
Didsbury.

8.Favorite Movie: ALIEN
More recent films I enjoyed were the Ramones film,
Cigarettes & Coffee (very funny), Ju On (original
Japanese version of The Grudge) and Rok Dabla (The
Year of the Devil).

Also enjoyed Alien Resurrection for the effects, even
if the plot gets pretty stupid, and the whole thing
looks like it was made to sell computer games. How did
Winona Ryder get from the bottom of the pool to behind
the shut door after being shot? How come one alien
took so much longer to gestate than the others? Why
does that soldier boy just stand there and let the
hybrid thingy bite off his head? How did Sigourney
Weaver get magic powers to transform the power of a
vacuum? How can this ultra tough alien queen be decked
with just one little punch by a bad baby? Why does the
smuggler captain just wander off on his own for no
reason at all?

I went to see the Ramones film a few days ago which is
worth it just to see cheeky monkey Dee Dee King
getting funky in his hilariously misguided rap phase.
Joey looked sick, and Johnny came across as a
cretinous bastard. My favourite quote from the film
was someone saying they thought Dee Dee would've been
happier in a band with a bunch of junkies like the
Heartbreakers, rather than guys who collect baseball
cards.

9.Favorite Arcade Game: never play them

10.Best Killing Joke Album:

I would choose "Laugh? I Nearly Bought One!" if it had
included The Wait, but due to that omission it has to
be the first one.

In recent times I've listened most to the album
formerly known as Axis of Evil (but nearly always hit
skip for Loose Cannon, You'll Never Get to My Stadium
& quite often Dark Forces too), "Chaos For Breakfast"
and "Killing Joke For Beginners" (but always switch it
off after Night Time and play the "HA!" live 10"
instead of the Brighter / Gate tunes which sound too
dated and eighties).

11.Greatest Killing Joke Song Ever: Pssyche (live HA!)
Its a bit of a scream!

Other favourites are:
The Wait, Sun Goes Down, Pandys Are Coming,
Exorcism, Tension, Intravenous, Seeing Red, Night
Time, Asteroid, Unspeakable, Inferno, Age of Greed

12.Worst Killing Joke Song Ever:

Stay One Jump Ahead

Also:

My Love of this Land is a bit drippy
America is corny but saved a little by the extended
babble version
A Southern Sky is a bit too close to Thompson Twins or
Tears For Fears

13. 5 Underrated/Underappreciated KJ Songs:

Guess Again
The Catalyst
Take What's Mine
The Fanatic
Four Stations of the Sun

All of these deserve to be resurrected or rerecorded.

14.A KJ Song Lyric:
   I saw the laughing pawn
    This was the Pest
     Take your spears
      And puncture the X!

15.Best KJ Remix: the one that improves the original
the most is Democracy from the Democracy CD single.
Most have the opposite effect.

16. 5 Songs/Bands Every Gatherer Needs To Hear:

Wire - Spent (because guitarist from The Thens thought
it was Killing Joke when I played it at an Erase
Errata gig)

PJ Harvey - Bows and Arrows (because she sees savages
and Ding her bassist's favourite band is Killing Joke)

The Fall - Das Vulture Ans Ein Nutter-Wain (because
MES requests that a Jester paints his face)

Mission of Burma - Wounded World (a similar sentiment
to Seeing Red, and includes the lyrics: "If you laugh
at my jokes, you will pay")

Gang of Four - Anthrax (if Seeing Red hasn't ruptured
your speakers yet, this will)

17. 5 Songs Currently On Heavy Rotation In Your
Stereo:

These are albums as opposed to songs:

50 Foot Wave - Golden Ocean (4AD)
Howling Hex - All-Night Fox (Drag City)
Low - The Great Destroyer (Rough Trade/Sub Pop)
Bastro - Bastro Diablo Guapo / Sing the Troubled Beast
reissue (Drag City)
RTX - Transmaniacon (Drag City)

50 Foot Wave is my favourite album of 2005 so far.
