[kj] OT: Tookie and Arnie

I don't think killing him is a punishment. I think the idea that the death
penalty is a punishment is an errornous belief, based on the idea that we
are able to judge other human beings and their actions. I am not talking
about punishment, I am talking about rights.

Now, I didn't say I have the right, Tookie had done nothing to me and I
can't vote in the state of California, so I have no rights to demand his
death or not. I said people have the right. I choose to live in a state
where the death penalty is alive (excuse the pun) and therefore just like
Tookie acted with his will, the society he lived in can act accordingly to
their beliefs too.
