Mars Volta are the world's most disappointing band.
 
Formed out of ATD-i, the best band of their era, and with a killer first single I thought they'd be literally the best band ever.  but no, they are just horrible self-indulgent prog and incapable of writing a good song.

as far as I know, both bands are/were touring together
but in my opinion, TMV is far supperior to SOAD, and their artworks are 
really a piece of art.
have bought their new album (frances the mute) triple lp gatefold version,
