I think you are being very unfair on the original.Its almost an accappella
with his voice adequately replacing the instruments.It's incredible the
amount of emotion and feeling that he can put into one song,Almost to the
point of over doing it,almost like he did nt care, just a release pure
emotion .
     Whilst in comparison the Cocteau Twins version does come across as
verging on  techno-babble,Although it does stand up as a song in its own
right.
