I would like to say that there is not one path that human society
follows. Our own society is a big melting pot which is becoming more and
more homogenised. This is because of globalisation, to a large extent.
But until a few hundred years ago many societies in different parts of
the world had grown up independently without any awareness or contact
with each other; for example, Aborigines, Inuit, Maoris and African
societies. Whatever environment man has found himself in he has adapted
to. These people had lived in sustainable societies for many hundreds of
years, until they were discovered by Europeans. These societies were
quite different from each other. I think that talking about development
in terms of it being more or less advanced gets up people's noses
because it means that a judgement is being made about what is better or
worse. A society is such a complex thing that I would say that it is
impossible to judge it by one word, or in a very general way. I would
say that our society is very dependant on the technology that has been
collectively created and that is a double edged sword.

it.How is the third world being Exploited on such a grand scale?I
realise
that it must happen to a degree as it does in all walks of life.
   But is it really such a big issue? And surely the rich countries
contribution to the poor countries out weighs these differences***
