[kj] clock machinations

I have got to elaborate on what a brilliant night last Friday was - now
I have a bit of time to do it.
It was just plain brilliant! Enjoyed myself so much! I even won a
T-shirt in the prize draw.
I tell you when I actually saw Big Paul and Youth propping up the bar, I
was filled with amazement and awe, because I thought it was just a
rumour that had been started to sell more tickets (sorry to be so
cynical, Mike. But at least it shows I actually came to see the bands.)I
just stood there grinning inanely.
Had a good chat with Big Paul, eventually. He was lovely, and amazingly
even claimed to remember me from the early days - well he said I looked
familiar. Mind you then his wife chipped in saying she thought I looked
familiar too...anyway she was very nice and we all chatted about
everything and nothing. Afterwards I wished I'd told him what a
fantastic drummer he was. Oh well! I think Youth had gone by then.
Met gatherers I knew and some I'd never met before. Only got there at
9ish so only saw Faces of Sarah and Headcount, who were both brilliant!
Faces of Sarah did a rendition of 'Concrete and Clay', which made me
laugh after Colesy's confessions - amazingly the singer's dad sang the
original version,- and I liked their original stuff even more.
Oooooh Mike please do it again!
Am really looking forward to Faces of Sarah at Camden Underworld on 29
April.

Headcount were great, good crowd, so yeah it was a top night. Good to
see some old faces and some new ones and it gave me chills to see
Youth and Big Paul talking even if Youth does now resemble a young
Michael Howard. Bob Meyer was great - what fantastic guitarist - could
have listened to him all day.
