That is correct, Cluj is called "the heart of Transylvania" and is located 
in the middle of the Carpathian mountains. It's a university city so it's 
not a dump like other places of the country. There's a large Hungarian 
minority there, about 20 percent, keep in mind the area used to be 
Hungarian. But since it's a university city, many people there speak 
either English or German, so it's not that hard for a stupid foreigner to 
get around there.

There's some places around the highways that lead to Cluj (the region) 
that are total tourist traps, selling you all kinds of junk with Vlad 
Tepes' insignia on it, but Cluj-Napoca (the city) itself is rather nice. 
It's cheap as fuck, the food is good, the beer is decent and the girls are 
oh so beautiful. The music scene isn't that good because most people can't 
afford to go to concerts that aren't local bands, but it is a very lively 
place anyway and the view of the Carpathians is simply astonishing.
