Hello Music Lovers,

Who do we have in the studio for your viewing pleasure this week?

Fresh from headlining their own 'Curiosa' package tour in America, THE
CURE will be kicking off the show with "Taking Off", from their brand
new self titled album which was recently recorded with Nu Metal
producer, Ross Robinson. The Cure will also finish the show with the
classic "Boys Don't Cry". I'll be catching up with the quietly charming
Robert Smith for a few routine enquiries.

Who else do I have to tantalise you with this week?

After recently receiving a lifetime achievement award at the MOBOs,
multiple Grammy award winner, composer, producer, mother and all round
super star ANITA BAKER will be performing with her band in the studio.
After a ten year break from the business Anita is truly back on form and
she'll be performing a track from her new album, 'You're My Everything'
and her classic track "Sweet Love". I'll also be quizzing her at the
piano and may even coax her into a little impromptu sing-along with me
on the old Joanna too!

We like to have the superstars on Later and so following his induction
into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, from California,
JACKSON BROWNE will be here to perform "Running On Empty" and "These
Days" from his recently released "Best Of" album.

Who else?

Old friends of the show and Yorkshire's finest, EMBRACE, return to the
scene with a number 1 album entitled 'Out Of Nothing'. They'll be
performing their top ten single "Gravity", which was penned by their
friend Chris Martin, plus another track from the new album, "Ashes".

All the way from Sunderland I am also delighted to be joined by a new
band that everyone is talking about THE FUTUREHEADS. They'll be
performing two tracks, "Meantime" and "Decent Days and Nights". I am
really looking forward to them rocking out the Later studio.

As always I like to be the first to bring you brand new raw talent. This
week is no exception; from St Andrew's in Scotland we have a young lady
called KT TUNSTALL. Make sure you follow closely what KT does with the
little sampler at her feet; it is really very clever and most
entertaining.

That's all for this week! Next week I am delighted to say that Manic
Street Preachers, Kings of Leon and Nick Cave will also be performing on
the show.

That's all for now!

Make sure you tune in on Friday night at 11.35pm on BBC 2!
