i was really talking about the people on the gathering message board. but i
see your point, mick. you're saying bootlegs are good because they get the
message out to the wider audience including those who don't have pcs. well,
i can't really argue with you there. apart from maybe that there isn't much
of a message in two demos that didn't make the final cut. i suspect ade (i
think it was his post) was right in that what it boils down to is the band
aren't comfortable with people making money from their music, but if it's
given away in a good spirit that's ok. that would be my hunch. raven was
always very cool about the mp3s bev and i had on our site. but when a cd
appeared on ebay, which included a track that could only have come from our
site, we felt a bit cheesed off, not because we didn't want people to hear
the rare tracks but just because we'd been taken advantage of.
