>Yeah, fucking great gig... but yet again stopped early cos of some =

>pish glorified disco afterwards.=20

Don't get me started - that's one of my major bugbears! I will never =
understand why the powers that be consider clubs more important than =
live bands, I mean I've nothing against them and even indulge myself =
occasionally, but you can go to a club any time, but a gig is a once in =
a lifetime thing, so what's an extra 15 minutes? Especially as most =
people don't go to clubs till the pubs chuck them out anyway. Rant =
over.

Happily that was the only down side of an awesome gig. I was at the =
very front (sort of between Jaz and Geordie) and have bruised ribs to =
prove it (they must have raised the stage barrier at the Garage - I had =
similar bruises on my thighs after Turbonegro!!) but God was it worth =
it! Jaz was, to use a Glasgow expression, "pure mental" and stared =
right in my eyes quite a few times which was a bit scary, but then he =
blew me a kiss (!). Thought all the new stuff sounded great, yes =
including Loose Cannon, although if I had a criticism it would be that =
The Death and Resurrection Show lost something without Grohl's drumming, =
but it was still superb. Best of the new ones was Seeing Red imho =
(although we never got Asteroid due to aforementioned Curfew). I was a =
KJ live virgin so it was great to hear them do all the early stuff - =
especially Requiem, Wardance, The Fall of Because and Change. I really =
hope it won't be the last time I see them live - am seriously tempted to =
try to get tickets for London next weekend!! A friend of ours was well =
pissed off because his own band were playing at Sleazy's across the road =
so he missed most of it but still managed to sneak over for half a dozen =
numbers!

Oh and quote of the night, from my other half on seeing me sporting the =
t-shirt I'd just bought after the gig: "You've got Jaz on your tits! =
.... no, I'd better re-phrase that..."

Kate
