I've spun this yarn here before, but I once interviewed the band circa
PANDEMONIUM, and in a foolhardy fit of idiocy, asked Jaz how he responded to
the negative press about him that suggested that he was simply "crying wolf"
in regards to his constant warnings of impending apocalypse. Suffice to say,
his face drained of all humor and gave me a wide-eyed stare that could've
punctured steel, prompting me to sheepishly back down and stammer out some
half-assed apologies. He recovered his affability afterwards, but for a few
moments, I definetely felt some palpable tension that could've spilled over
the edge into serious peril.

Well, although I was really stoned I more or less felt that my rather blunt
question would somewhat stirr up the whole solemn atmosphere. I like to be a
bit provocative sometimes. Maybe it was the fact that I don't look very
menacing that Jaz thought it wasn't worth it beating me up LOL

Actually, I wanted to seize the opportunity to get something interesting out
of Jaz by throwing a stone into the water ;) Didn't work though LOL

Jaz had been very nice and relaxed before. Are you serious that he was
likely to get really mad??? I mean, I know some of these stories about
special treatment for music critics but that was 20 years ago. Jaz is a
priest now! And a classical music conductor!

Hmmmm, but not really when he is with the Joke. He was pretty eruptive on
stage and pissed Geordie off so much that he didn't show up backstage after
the show.

Anyway, guess I am safe now ;)
