[kj] NYC gig - Mission Accomplished

No worries, Cliff. Like I said, unless Tod decides to tag along, you have
three. Otherwise you have two waiting for you. Call the number I gave ya
last night (I'd re-post it by I don't have it with me) and find out about
scoring more tix for the rest of your travelling circus. But, rest assured
that you have at least two already taken care of.

In thinking more about this, I'm wondering if the sheer reason no one else
save the African dude was on "line" (a sad little line of two) with me is
that *NO ONE REALLY KNOWS ABOUT THIS GIG*. For a start, I don't listen to
NYC radio at all, so I don't rightly know if they've been playing any track=
s
off the album or making any announcements. Secondly, there is absolutely
*NO* poster/flyer campaign on the streets at all. This was *NOT* the case
circa PANDEMONIUM, where the chilling blue face of Hermes could regularly b=
e
seen peeking enigmatically out at you every five blocks or so. Even in the
likeliest of record stores, there isn't any display beyond the album in the
racks (which, I'm happy to say, remains prominent in most of the 'new
release' racks I've seen). Even the band's own website (I know, I know ---
pickin' on an easy target again) is at best vague and at worst non-commital
about the date.

Unless you're an obssesed jerkoff fanboy like myself (unwilling to let
information be selectively spoon-fed to him at a rate that makes glaciers
seem stealthy) how is John Q. Joker to know?? If you were simply a passive
fan of Killing Joke, there's every reason to believe this gig could float
right under the radar. Even the billing on the CMJ site is subtle beyond
belief (the Joke are listed under the "opening night party" roster, yet are
nowhere to be found on the list of bands scheduled to play during the
entirety of the seminar...it was a fluke that I spotted it....had I not
known to look for it, how would I have ever learned about it?)

If I were one of the boys in the band, I'd want to kick someone's ass about
this right now. THE WORD MUST BE SPREAD!
