To expand, your signal path would be audio and video out of your vcr, =
into a
DVcam (this will digitize your footage), and then firewire out of the =
DVcam

This is how I converted my demo reel from digital Betacam to DVD. =
Unfortunately, there was some compression. Why? I don't know. DVcam =
claims to be at a resolution that just exceedes NTSC. And Digital =
Betacam is 'exactly' NTSC, so one would figure that no compression would =
take place. But all in all, it's a very good solution.
