SOPHIA SIGN TO CITY SLANG

BUSH HALL SHOW TO DEBUT NEW MATERIAL

CITY SLANG & LABELS are extremely proud to announce that they have signed
SOPHIA, and will release a new album, PEOPLE ARE LIKE SEASONS, in January
2004. SOPHIA is Robin Proper-Sheppard, formerly of The God Machine, and a
cast of musicians drawn from a pool of bands with whom Robin has worked
throughout his career, otherwise known as "The Sophia Collective". Full
details of the album will be announced soon.

To celebrate the release, an intimate evening with SOPHIA has been confirmed
to take place at The Bush Hall in London on November 18th and will represent
SOPHIA's first UK appearance in a number of years. A full band will be
joined by a string section for this first public performance of the new
material, and the evening will showcase the multi-textured nature of
SOPHIA's music, highlighting the dramatic steps forward that the new album
represents. Tickets cost £8 and are available through the Bush Hall box
office on 020 8222 6933 as well as TicketWeb.

The Infinite Circle and Fixed Water, SOPHIA's previous two albums - as well
as a live album, De Nachten - were entirely financed, recorded and produced
by Robin, who also oversaw the entire production, promotion and distribution
of the albums on his own The Flower Shop Recordings label. This is the first
time since the days of The God Machine that Robin has agreed to work with
another label, and reflects his belief in the way that City Slang operates.
The album also represents a considerable step forward in Robin's writing,
and sees the SOPHIA sound grow and develop in a way that makes dramatic
progress from the European independent underground inevitable.
