I don't think that Jaz articulated the *conspiracy* theory that well - a
real cynic might argue that considering the available intelligence, how was
it allowed to happen ? How could 19 dubious foreign nationals, who must have
been under some sort of surveillance, board 4 (or was it 5 flights)
simultaneously without anyone having a clue what was about to unfold. Of
course, hindsight's a wonderful thing ... but if anyone was looking for a
trigger to engage in a major foreign policy operation, here it was ... I
agree that it is monstrous to suggest 9/11 was staged, but I kinda suspect
that the security authorities knew more about the movements & intentions of
these guys than they have let on (we may find out more in 30 years time) ...
I suspect that not even the architects of the attack had any idea that the
twin towers would collapse therefore I think this is where the conspiracy
theory really breaks down as that was probably an unexpected (and
horrifically tragic) development ...
