[kj] BBC Radio6 - the Jaz & Geordie show - a summary

I have a problem, hope some of you guys could help me. I'm using a Mac and I can't see more controls on the BBC Radio Player than <'play / pause / stop> and the tinny green letters (buffer / elapsed time). I can't forward nor skip 5 mins either.
The main problem is that I can't turn up the volume... there's sound, but I can barely listen some words and music in the very background. 
There are some keyboard short cuts in Real Player  to turn up/ down the voulme [command/up-down arrow] but doesn't work with that BBC player.
Any clue??
