wow,
was watching Billy Connelly, and he explained how the term 'Geordie' came about . . .
back in the old days of mining, they used gas-lamps. one of the main lamps used was called a 'Geordie'. then some new lamp came out but all the dudes in the Newcastle area kept using the old ones, and so ppl from the area were thusly called, Geordie's!
